—–1986 Airstream 345 Classic Motorhome with Custom interior—–

This beauty is one of a kind. It features a fully customized, fifties art deco interior, including bar stools, matching zodiac upholstery on the booth and couch, awesome vintage drapes and even real ceramic tile floor. It has been extensively re-fit inside over the three years that I’ve owned it. There are well over 1000 hours and thousand of dollars invested in these upgrades.

The previous owner was a World War II Bomber pilot who maintained the RV with the meticulous care one would expect from pilot. For the last two and a half years the RV was used as a mobile hockey shop. It was driven 5 miles round trip to the rink 6 days a week 50 weeks out of the year. As it was my livelihood during that time frame, I’m very confident in the mechanical state of the vehicle. It never let me down as my daily driver and I took care of it to make sure it wouldn’t.

The exterior has some rough spots. I intended to polish the entire thing, but lost interest when I moved my business to a fixed location. There is a bit of hazing on the clear coat which is typical on the older Airstream Motor homes. The clear coat can be stripped off and the entire shell polished to a mirror shine. It’s a simple, but time consuming process that yields amazing results for someone willing to put in the time. There are also a few dings which I posted pictures of.

Here are the details:

KITCHEN
-Brand new Kitchen sink and faucet
-Brand new 3 burner stove
-Original Microwave/Convection oven still works great
-Original 3 way fridge was updated with new exterior panels
-Pre-wired and plumbed for an ice maker
-Counter tops replaced 3 years ago with genuine boomerang, retro Formica complete with aluminum edging.

BATHROOM
-Brand new toilet
-New shower head, hardware and curtain
-New Delta Faucet
-Ceramic tile floor

FRONT LIVING AREA
-All upper cabinet doors have been converted to picture frames (you can easily replace the current pictures with your own).
-Two restaurant grade bar stools installed 3 years ago, in like new condition.
-Ceramic tile floor installed 3 years ago is in good shape. There is minor hazing on some of the white tiles. The floor was very heavily used while this was my shop and has held up nicely.
-Pre-wired for 12 volt/120volt TV, DVD game console, etc

BEDROOM
-New carpet in bedroom
-Brand new Sealy Mattress on newly installed full size queen bed (not the smaller camper queen).
-Brand new custom drapes in the bedroom
-Pre-wired for TV and phone

HVAC
-New front furnace in September. Original furnace in rear still blows hot.
-Both rooftop A/C units blow cold
-Both rooftop units include heat

GENERAL
-Original Flex Steel Seats are in good condition, very comfortable, 8 way power.
-LED lighting installed throughout to maximize battery life

MECHANICAL
-Very strong Chevy 454 with Banks Power Pack—improved intake with K&N Filter and Upgraded Exhaust. Upgraded output is in the ballpark of 500 foot pounds torque and 400 horsepower. Synthetic oil only since previous owner.
-Replaced all belts on engine in March.
-New air compressor for rear air-bag suspension in June
-New passenger side front suspension air-bag in October 2008
-New front tires in October 2008. Approximately 300 miles on them.
-Only 250 hours since major tune up and a new carburetor on the Onan generator
-Upgraded to two Interstate SRM-29 coach batteries (the largest marine batteries that will fit) only about 20 cycles on them.
-Interstate MTP-24 engine battery in December 2008

The not so great stuff
-The gray paint on the exterior is in poor condition and appears to have been applied by the previous owner. I intended to strip this along with the clear coat as part of the refinish.
-The power mirrors stopped operating at the same time. It might be a fuse, I don’t know.
-The rear tires have good tread, but the sidewalls are showing some minor cracking. They will get you where you are going, but you’ll likely want to replace them soon.
-The RV will need brakes soon. They are still strong, but one of the rear brakes started grinding about 100 miles ago
-The center post for the awning is missing

VITALS
Miles – 94,043
Genset hours – 1057

I have many more pictures which I’d be glad to email to you. If you have any questions or would like to come take a look, please make sure to contact me. I will check in daily for the duration of the auction and answer them as quickly and completely as I possibly can.

If unable to pick up the RV at time of purchase, I will require a $1500 non-refundable deposit by cash, money order, cashier’s check or credit card. The remainder by cashier’s check or money order on pickup. Pickup should be made within 10 days of end of auction after which I will charge storage fees of $10 a day.
